Joe Bonamassa to release Muddy Wolf at Red Rocks album and DVD
12 Feb 2015
Joe Bonamassa is set to release the DVD of his tribute concert to legendary blues artists Muddy Waters and Howlin’ Wolf.
The concert, which was held last August at the stunning Red Rocks Amphitheatre in the US, celebrated the life and works of legendary blues artists Muddy Waters and Howlin’ Wolf.
The set saw the acclaimed guitarist and singer perform a selection of tracks by Muddy Waters, who was hailed the “father of modern Chicago blues”, and Howlin’ Wolf along with performing tracks from his back catalogue of hits.
The concert was a pure celebration of the blue with Bonamassa exclaiming, "They always try to write off the blues; well we’ve proven tonight that at least 9,000 people like the blues,"
The DVD features over two and half hours of footage of Bonamassa’s set as well as behind-the-scene shots and footage of Muddy Waters and Howlin’ Wolf. The concert, held at Colorado’s Rocky Mountains, was Joe Bonamassa’s biggest show to date.
Muddy Wolf at Red Rocks is due for release on 23 March and will be available in 2CD, 2DVD, Bluray and 3LP formats.
