Blur to play additional UK shows

Blur confirmed they will play further concerts around the UK along with their headline Hyde Park gig.
On the back of the reveal that Blur will not only release their first album in 12 years but also headline BST Hyde Park festival, the group confirmed they will play additional shows in the UK.
Speaking to NME, Blur confirmed the shows saying, “We are going to do some gigs round the country prior to then [BST Hyde Park].”
It’s unclear where and when Blur’s extra UK gigs will take place. So far, the Britpop band’s only announced concert is their headline slot at London’s British Summer Time Hyde Park festival on 20 June.
It will be their fourth time headlining the event making them the only band to have headlined the festival four times. Tickets for their BST Hyde Park concert go on general sale on Friday 27 February.
Blur will release The Magic Whip, their first album in 12 years, on 27 April. The record is their eighth studio album and follows Think Tank. It will be the first album with the complete Blur line-up of Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon, Alex James and Dave Rowntree since their 1999 release 13.
Blur formed back in 1988 with their debut album, Leisure, following three years later. The group were at the frontier of the Britpop movement releasing albums such as Modern Life Is Rubbish and The Great Escape.
