Madonna releases thirteenth studio album Rebel Heart
09 Mar 2015
The wait is finally over for Madonna’s brand new album following its release today.
Madonna has released Rebel Heart in the UK, which is the 56-year-old’s thirteenth studio album and follow-up to 2012’s MDNA.
The official release of the much-talked about album follows a number of unforeseen leaks and the news that Madonna will tour the UK in support of Rebel Heart during December 2015.
Rebel Heart includes the lead single Living For Love that Madonna performed at the 2015 Brit Awards. The now famous performance saw Madonna take an unplanned tumble after the cape she was wearing wouldn’t come undone as originally planned.
For Rebel Heart Madonna worked with a number of high profile artists to produce the album including Kanye West, Avicii, Diplo and Ryan Tedder.
In the race for the UK’s No.1 album, Madonna will face competition from X Factor star Rebecca Ferguson who has released Lady Sings The Blues this week. In the charts, Chasing Yesterday by Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds is currently leading the way followed by Sam Smith’s In The Lonely Hour and Ed Sheeran’s X.
Madonna’s tour will get underway in London before visiting Manchester, Birmingham and Glasgow. The UK dates are part of a wider world tour with tickets set to go on general sale on Monday 16 March while presales start from Tuesday 10 March.
