X by Ed Sheearn surpasses two million sales mark
19 Mar 2015
Ed Sheeran’s chart-conquering second album X has sold over 2 million copies in the UK.
The red-headed singer has landed one of the biggest music achievements of the decade with his second album, X, selling over 2 million copies.
The singer is only the fifth artist to achieve the feat since the beginning of the decade. He joins Adele, Emeli Sande, Take That and Michael Buble who have previously attained the accolade.
Originally released last June, X spent 12 non-consecutive weeks at the top of the albums chart in the UK. It delivered Ed Sheeran’s first UK No.1 single, Sing, which was quickly followed by his second, Thinking Out Loud.
What’s more, the album is still in the Top 5 currently sitting at No.3 behind Sam Smith’s In The Lonely Hour and Madonna’s Rebel Heart.
Meanwhile, the 24-year-old singer will play three headline shows at London’s Wembley Stadium and two at Dublin’s Croke Park in July.
Tickets for Ed Sheeran’s summer concerts are now on sale here.
