Take That the musical
15 Apr 2015
Gary Barlow has teased fans with the prospect of a Take That musical.
In a recent interview with The Sun, Gary Barlow spoke about how a musical detailing the story of Take That could take place in around five years.
Gary Barlow compared Take That’s history to that of Jersey Boys; their musical is currently on the West End. He said, “The Take That musical has got to happen. I think it's a great story. I watched Jersey Boys and it's not too dissimilar to our story. I would love to get that on stage.
“We've got 25 years of music, so the hard bit is done. I'd look to put it on a stage in the next five years.”
Take That formed in 1990 with the original line-up of Gary Barlow, Howard Donald, Mark Owen, Jason Orange and Robbie Williams. They have enjoyed seven No.1 albums in the UK and countless chart-topping hits around the world.
The band’s line-up has undergone changes with Robbie Williams departing in 1995. Jason Orange left the band in 2014 before the release of III; Take That’s seventh album.
The group are due to start their first tour as a trio later this month. The band will perform for numerous nights at the UK and Ireland’s biggest arenas from 27 April to 26 June. Tickets for their 2015 tour are now on sale here.
