Florence and the Machine top the UK charts
08 Jun 2015
Florence + the Machine have landed their third consecutive UK No.1 following the release of How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful.
After almost four years since the release of Ceremonials, Florence and the Machine have returned with their third studio album How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful, which has garnered the group their third chart-topping album.
The album defeated competition from Collabro’s Act Two, which is the band’s second album and charted at number two, and Jamie XX’s debut album In Colour. This week’s fourth place went to Simply Red’s Big Love, while Taylor Swift’s 1989 completed the Top 5.
Florence and the Machine’s How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful sold almost 70,000 copies during the week, which also saw the band’s 2009 debut, Lungs, re-enter the charts at 18.
After riding high at the top of the charts, Florence and the Machine confirmed a UK and Ireland tour in support of the collection. The group’s tour will take place during September and includes four nights at London’s Alexandra Palace. Tickets for their tour go on sale on Friday 12 June.
