Foo Fighters announce Milton Keynes and Edinburgh gigs
13 Jul 2015
Foo Fighters have confirmed shows in Milton Keynes and Edinburgh after cancelling their Wembley Stadium concerts earlier this year.
The group were forced to cancel a number of huge dates, including two nights at Wembley Stadium and a concert at Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh, after Dave Grohl broke his gig during their show in Sweden.
Foo Fighters have now confirmed they will return to the UK in September to perform for two nights at Milton Keynes Bowl and Murrayfield Stadium. The band have also confirmed support from Iggy Pop, Royal Blood and Honeyblood.
Dave Grohl and co. will perform in Milton Keynes on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 September and in Edinburgh on Tuesday 8 September.
The news was confirmed on Foo Fighters’ official website with the following statement, “You have always stood by our band, and we will always stand by you. Like I say at every show, we wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for you guys.
“And I mean that. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. And I will do everything I can to come back and give you a night to remember for the rest of your lives as soon as possible.”
Foo Fighters were due to perform shows in London and Edinburgh, as well as headlining Glastonbury, during June. The band were forced to cancelled the gigs after Dave Grohl injured his leg at their concert in Sweden on 12 June. The band returned to touring in American on Independence Day (4 July) with Dave Grohl wearing a cast.
The shows are in support of Foo Fighters’ eighth studio album, Sonic Highways. The collection was recorded in eight different states in America and was released in November 2014.
Ticket presales start on Wednesday 15 July. Foo Fighters tickets will be available via general sale on Friday 17 July.
