Red Hot Chilli Peppers join Foo Fighters on tour

Foo Fighters were joined by special guest Chad Smith during their New York gig earlier this week.
The group led by Dave Grohl – who’s currently touring with a broken foot – were in New York on Wednesday (15 July) night as part of their Sonic Highways tour.
The band were joined by Chad Smith, drummer from Red Hot Chilli Peppers, during the show, where their set included a number of covers. They performed Stay With Me by The Faces with Chad Smith; the song originally featured vocals from Rod Stewart.
Foo Fighters’ set during their New York gig, which took place at Citi Field in Queens, included a number of covers. They rocked through Queen’s Under Pressure, Breakdown by Tom Petty and The Police’s Next To Me.
The show was part of their Sonic Highways tour, which was originally due to come to the UK in June but was cancelled after Dave Grohl injured his foot. Foo Fighters confirmed new UK tour datesearlier this week.
They will play Milton Keynes’ National Bowl and Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium on 5, 6 and 8 September. Special guests at the shows are Iggy Pop, Royal Blood and Honeyblood. Foo Fighters tickets are now on sale here.
