Zayn Malik signs solo record deal with RCA

The One Direction rumour mill can pause for a moment because Zayn Malik has announced a solo record deal with RCA.
The former One Direction member, Zayn Malik, posted an image on Twitter of himself at RCA Records signing a contract. The picture lays to rest the speculation of what he would do after departing from the band earlier this year.
The image followed a Tweet from the star which said,” I guess I never explained why I left, it was for this moment to be given the opportunity to show you who i really am! #realmusic #RCA !!” It was followed by the tweet, “#REALME”.
There’s no word from One Direction yet, but Simon Cowell congratulated Zayn Malik on the move by tweeting, “I believe they are the perfect label for @ZaynMalik’s solo career and I am sure whatever they release together will be special.”
Zayn Malik left One Direction in March 2015 in the midst of the boy’s On The Road Again world tour. One Direction, who have released four albums and can be credited as the world’s biggest boy band, celebrated five years together early this month (July).
One Direction will bring their world tour to the UK in September. The tour includes a number of residences at the country’s biggest arenas. Tickets are now on sale for their tour here.
