Foo Fighters confirm Italy gig after viral video
Foo Fighters will perform in Italy after a video of 1,000 musicians performed Learn to Fly to woo Dave Grohl to the country.

The group of 1,000 people, organised by Fabio Zaffagnini, performed the classic Foo Fighters’ track Learn to Fly. The performance was in bid to woo Dave Grohl to perform in the small Italian town, Cesena.

The video quickly went viral, with over 18 million views, and caught the attention of Dave Grohl. He once again showed why he’s the nicest guy in rock and confirmed the band would perform in Italy.

In a homemade video, Dave Grohl responded and promised to come to Cesena. Fabio Zaffagnini said that organising the stunt saying took a year to plan. The original idea came from the movie School of Rock.

Meanwhile, Foo Fighters are due to return to the UK in September. They will complete their Sonic Highways tour, which was postponed after Dave Grohl broke his leg in Sweden. The band will perform in Edinburgh and Sweden. Tickets are now on sale here.
