Meghan Trainor to knock 1D off top spot
Meghan Trainor is on track to lead this week’s UK Official Singles Chart and will knock One Direction off the top spot.

Despite smashing a number of records and leading the singles chart last week, One Direction have moved to number nine in the mid-week chart update.

The Official Charts revealed that Meghan Trainor and Charlie Puth’s Marvin Gaye is leading the UK charts. It’s followed by Calvin Harris and Disciples’ How Deep Is Your Love.

Further on in the charts, Little Mix are now at number four with Black Magic, after previously leading the table, and Lost Frequencies’ Are You With Me has moved to number five.
Meanwhile, One Direction’s Drag Me Down remains in the top 10 at number nine. The single debuted at No.1 following its release on 31 July. Despite breaking the record for most first-week streams for a single in the UK, the track has been unable to keep its lead.

Drag Me Down secured One Direction their first Australia No.1 and is the first single without original member Zayn Malik.

Despite this, everything could still change in time for the final UK Official Singles Chart update, which will take place on Friday at 5:45pm.
