Fan joins Foo Fighters on stage to sing Tom Sawyer

A fan joined Foo Fighters on stage during their show in Canada to perform Rush’s Tom Sawyer with the band.
At a Foo Fighters gig in Edmonton on Thursday 13 August, Dave Grohl called out to the audience if anyone knew the words to Rush’s Tom Sawyer track and if they could sing. A fan named Brian was brought on stage.
The audience member seemed confident as he walked on stage. Even after Dave Grohl questioned his talent, “You’re trying to tell me you can sing those high notes?”
As Brian joined Dave Grohl on stage, who is currently playing gigs sat down in a throne-chair after he broke his leg on stage in Sweden, he joked, “Welcome to my nightmare.” They then started the track with Brian on vocals.

Brian’s performance went down a treat with fans, and the video shows Dave Grohl looking particularly impressed. After the song was finished, Dave Grohl expressed how amazed he was of the performance and asked how he managed to hit the song’s high notes.
The gig was part of Foo Fighter’s Sonic Highways tour that will return to the UK in September. The band was originally due to tour the UK in June, but they were forced to cancel the dates after Dave Grohl broke his leg.
Foo Fighters will play two gigs at Milton Keynes’ National Bowl and one show at Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium. They’ll be joined by Iggy Pop, Royal Blood and Honeyblood on the tour. Foo Fighters tickets can now be purchased here for their UK dates.
