11 Sep 2015
Muse have confirmed five UK and Ireland tour dates for 2016, which are part of their Drones world tour. Tickets will go on general sale on Friday 18 September.
The acclaimed, Grammy Award-winning band will tour the UK during April, with dates scheduled in Dublin, Manchester, London and Glasgow.
The tour – which was confirmed by frontman Matt Bellamy on BBC Radio 2 and was then posted on the band’s official website, muse.mu – is set to be the band’s most exciting production yet.
Matt Bellamy said it will be the "most elaborate production we've done" and will include "lots of flying things... and real military drones".
Their website then stated that the tour will give fans a complete 360 degree experience because the band will perform in the middle of the arena.
In support of their latest release Drones, Muse’s UK and Ireland tour will include two nights at London’s The O2 arena. The tour will then continue to Europe, with confirmed dates in Lisbon, Madrid, Milan and Prague.
Fans around the world will be pleased to know the band will confirm the rest of their world tour dates at a later stage. Their website states the tour will visit Germany, Netherlands, France, Switzerland, Austria, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Canada and the United States of America.
Muse released Drones in June, which charted at No.1 in fourteen countries. The concept album includes Dead Inside and Mercy, and it was their first album of new material since 2012’s The 2nd Law.
Forming in 1994 and originating in Devon, the band consist Matt Bellamy, Chris Wolstenholme and Dominic Howard. The group have released seven studio albums, sold over 17 million albums and have won a Grammy Award, Brit Awards and several MTV Europe Music Awards.
Muse tickets are slated to go on general sale on 18 September. Ticket presales start on 15 September.
