20 Jan 2012
Lady Gaga and her mother, Cynthia Germanotta are to launch the Born This Way Foundation (BTWF) on 29th February 2012, with an event at Harvard Univeristy.
The aim of the new charity will be to encourage empowerment, stop bullying and improve the lives of young people for the future.
Lady Gaga has long been associated with voicing her opinion on important political issues and anti-bullying legislation.
She met up with President Barack Obama in December 2011 to discuss her ideas and dedicated a performance of “Hair” at the iHeartRadio Festival in Las Vegas to a fan who had taken their life caused by anti-gay harassment.
Lady Gaga also recently received the Hero Award by the Trevor Project, a non-profit organization which tries to prevent suicides.
