Mumford And Sons Set Up Own Mini Festivals
13 Apr 2012
Mumford and Sons have announced two small festivals the band has organised.
Under the title "Gentlemen of the Road Stopover" the events in Hudeersfield and Galway are based on the folk-rockers favourite festivals, such as Colorado’s Telluride Bluegrass and Loopallu Festivals in Scotland.
The band explained the idea as a way to play in smaller places where the live touring circus doesn't stop often. The "Gentlemen of the Road Stopover" events will have a 'travelling Victorian circus' and ‘Victorian travelling circus' vibe and Mumford & Sons aim to promote local businesses, and support local venues for possible afterparties.
In between the two "Gentlemen of the Road Stopover" shows, Mumford & Sons have announced more regular live shows. In addition to their own mini-festivals and headline shows, the neo-folkies will also perform at this year's RockNess Festival in Scotland.
A list of artist friends and colleagues will join Mumford & Sons on their "Gentlemen of the Road Stopover" events in Huddersfield and Galway. In Huddersfield, Mumford & Sons will be joined by Willy Mason, Michael Kiwanuka, amongst others, while fans in galway get to see The Vaccines and Willy Mason alongside Mumford & Sons and other friends of the band.
