Robbie Williams Added To London Jubillee Concert
30 Apr 2012
Take That’s Robbie Williams is the latest performer to be added to the line-up for The Queen's Diamond Jubilee Concert at Buckingham Palace on 4 June 2012
Gary Barlow, Robbie’s former band mate and event organiser, has assembled a star-studded bill which also includes Sir Elton John, Sir Paul McCartney and Dame Shirley Bassey.
The show takes place at the Queen Victoria memorial in front of the Palace, and will be broadcast live across the globe with UK coverage on BBC One and BBC Radio 2.
The event is said to be attended by 10.000 fans chosen by random ballot. More than 1.2 million applications were made for the free tickets, according to figures released earlier this month.
Stevie Wonder, JLS, Ed Sheeran, Jessie J and JLS will also appear at the event, and will be attended by The Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh and other members of the Royal Family.
The Diamond Jubilee event will be Robbie Williams' first solo concert since leaving Take That for the second time. Williams, who will become a father for the first time with his wife Ayda Field in September, is expected to announce on a solo tour following the concert. Keep your eyes and ears peeled for possible Robbie Williams announcements!
Robbie Williams joked on his official website: "If this doesn't get me a knighthood, nothing will. I can't wait for the show."
