Ultravox Release First New Studio Album in 28 Years
Electro pioneers Ultravox are to release their new album ‘Brilliant’ on the 28th May 2012 after a 28 year absence.

Midge Ure, Billy Currie, Chris Cross and Warren Cann return to the music scene and are back and better than ever.

Talking about their new album which has been recorded in Canada, the US and UK, Midge Ure said,

"I think this record is probably the best one we’ve ever done, because the songs are so much stronger than before.

"There’s a lovely naivety you have when you start out where you throw things together and think that they’re great and somehow that affects other people, but I think the fact that we’ve been working away separately over the years perfecting our art comes out on this record."

The band discussed how their influences such as Kraftwerk and Neu as well as pop inspired music from Roxy Music and David Bowie helped create their latest masterpiece.

"If it was Ultravox with a slightly different line-up, if one of us wasn’t there it wouldn’t have that link but because the four of us are there together it has that link. Something about the persona of these characters coming together and those emotions turns it into something else” explained Midge Ure.

The album certainly accomplishes what it sets out to do: ‘Live Again’ with piano riffs to the more dancier elements of the journey, pulsating with energy and electronic madness of ‘Brilliant’.

Don’t miss the opportunity to see Ultravox perform when they embark on their UK tour in the autumn, with dates to be announced very soon!
