Gotye Stays Number One On The Billboard Chart
Belgium-Australian star Gotye, shot to fame with his single “Somebody That I Used to Know” (2011) and has managed to stay number one for 6 weeks in a row on the Billboard Hot 100 list.

Wally De Backer (Gotye’s real name) third studio album “Making Mirrors” includes his hit single “Somebody That I Used to Know”, a powerful but simple tune. The rest of the album contains gems like “Easy Way Out” and “Eyes Wide Open”, aiming for the more traditional indie rock sounds.

Gotye’s success has been a long time coming. Moving to Australia from a young age, the young Gotye started sampling music and released his first independent album in 2003 (Boardwalk).

His determination to make it in the music industry paid off and he went on to gain massive airplay and exposure, appearing on The American version of The Voice and his songs being performed by contestants on American Idol.
