Joe Bonamassa Discusses His Latest Album Offering
28 May 2012
Guitar virtuoso, vocalist and songwriter Joe Bonamassa discussed his latest album offering: Driving Towards the Daylight. He recently announced his 2013 UK tour dates.
Joe Bonamassa’s new album Driving Towards the Daylight steps into another realm of musical direction for the New York musician. He combines his tunes such as ‘Dislocated Boy’ with some classics such as Robert Johnson’s ‘Stones In My Passway’ and Willie Dixon’s ‘I Got All You Need’ as well as a wonderful version of Tom Waits ‘New Coat Of Pain’.
"I find it ironic I'm the American selling the British people, kind of the way they sold their stuff to us," said Bonamassa while on tour from Springfield, Mo., Tuesday, May 1. "Only 40 years separates it. The British guys got me more than anybody, the British blues, the heavier groups from the '60s," he said, including in that list two groups with Clapton, John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers and Cream. "I share a birthday with Robert Johnson."
