Coldplay Pay A Fortune On Wristbands
Chris Martin and his Coldplay have revealed that the multi-coloured wristbands the band is giving out at their current shows to fans, is costing them a fortune.

“Most of the money we're earning on the tour is put into the wristbands. “ says Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin. “We have to figure out how to keep it going without going broke because it's a crucial part of the concert.”

One would assume the Coldplay do-gooders would donate any earnings into one of the many charities the band is involved with, but instead it appears that most of their money goes into the wristbands.

The wristbands are a gimmick, but a very effective one during the band’s sold-out shows and form an integral visual part of the show. Designed by a sex toy inventor, Martin explains the idea behind the wristbands further: "It's a little self-indulgent,” admits the Coldplay singer, “but we love the way it looks when there are 15,000 or 40,000 or however many people with all those lights on them. The technology is still very experimental."

You can collect your own multi-coloured Coldplay wristband and join the party at one of their forthcoming UK shows. The band is set to play a number of massive stadium shows in support of their current album “Mylo Xyloto.” The UK leg of the tour is kicking off on May 29th at the Coventry Ricoh Stadium before moving to London on June 1st where the band plays a 3-night residency at the Emirates Stadium. Coldplay’s UK stint ends with two shows at the Manchester Etihad Stadium.

In addition, the Coldplay boys will appear at various festivals throughout the summer, including an appearance at the “Festival Of Flame,” the official closing ceremony for the 2012 London Olympics.

Coldplay tickets for the band’s own headline shows in Coventry, London and Manchester are now available on GET ME IN! – Ticketmaster’s online ticket market.
