Battle Born Is the Title of The Killers New Album
28 May 2012
“Battle Born” is the title of The Killers forthcoming new album.
The Las Vegas indie rocker took a brief break from writing and recording to give their fans a progress report and to announce the album title.
The title “Battle Born” is a reference to the band’s own recording studio, which is also called “Battle Born” and it is also a nickname for their home state of Nevada.
“In a sense, all Americans are battle born.” Explains Killers frontman and songwriter Brandan Flowers, “Our ancestors came here for something better."
“Battle Born” will be The Killers’ fourth studio album and long awaited follow-up to 2008’s “Day & Age” album. Talking about the album’s progress, Killers drummer Ronnie Vanucci admits difficulties the band is experiencing making the album: “It's living up to its title. This is our difficult fourth record.”
Following the release and world tour for their last album “Day & Age,” the band made the decision to take a break to allow each band member to take a time out from recording and touring. Brandan Flowers explored life as a solo artist and scored a UK #1 with his debut album “Flamingo” in 2010.
The band has only performed a few festival slots over the last couple of years and fans are eager to hear what the band has been working on over the last few months. “Battle Born” is the album’s titled, but an announcement for its release date might take a few more months.
