Blur Set To Kick Off Farewell Concert Tour

Blur are set to kick off what is widely speculated the band’s last reunion tour for a long while.
Blur fans should tune into BBC Radio 2 and 6Music today, 31st July 2012! The Britpop legends are in session on BBC 6 Music from 6pm and play an exclusive live set from 8pm on Radio 2 for the BBC listeners. The on-air promo onslaught kicks off Blur’s “Warm-Up for Hyde Park” tour at intimate venues across the UK.
Blur have also released their Greatest Hits album, Blur 21 – The Definitive Anthology. The package includes 21 discs and features the band’s current double A-side single ‘Under The Westway’ / ‘The Puritan.’
In addition to the band’s massive ‘Goodbye’ activities, the Londonewcastle Project Space in London curates a photo and arts exhibition dedicated to the global indie popsters. Over 70 images by photographers and painters including Banksy, Pennie Smith, Julien Opie and Kevin Cummins are on display until August 14th.
The 3-date warm-up tour is stopping tomorrow at Margate Winter Gardens (1st August), followed by shows at the London 100 Club (2nd August and Wolverhampton’s Civic Hall (5th August).
The short tour is a warm-up for Blur’s highly anticipated headline show at London’s Hyde Park as part of the Closing Ceremony for the 2012 London Olympics.
