Girls Aloud have announced their live comeback at a press conference. The tour, in support of their forthcoming Greatest Hits collection “Ten” is also a celebration of their 10th band anniversary!

Which is the biggest Girl Group? Spice Girls, I hear some of you shout without hesitation, but no, the biggest Girl Group by record sales are Girls Aloud! The five members of Girls Aloud have sold in excess of 4.3 million singles since they emerged on the scene in 2002 with Sound of The Underground. And have now confirmed their long-awaited reunion tour and the release of “Ten” - a solid gold hits collection to boot!

The original line-up of Girls Aloud, Cheryl Cole, Nicola Roberts, Sarah Harding, Nadine Coyne and Kimberly Welsh hit the road in February and March 2013 with dates in their hometown of Newcastle, as well as Sheffield, Manchester, Glasgow and London amongst other UK cities.

Cheryl Cold, who just enchanted her fans with a top selling solo album and successful live solo dates, writes in her autobiography: “We'll be working on a tour and greatest hits album. Then I think that's it for Girls Aloud. We've achieved more than any of us ever dared to dream of.” If Cheryl is to be believed, the forthcoming tour will be the last time Girls Aloud fans will be able to see their idols strutting their stuff together on one stage for the very last time. Girls Aloud tickets go on general on sale on Friday, October 26th and mark the band’s first shows together since 2009’s Out of Control Tour, which was widely believed to be the last time the five members, would share a stage together.

During their heyday, Girls Aloud released 5 best-selling studio albums. Aforementioned Sound Of The Underground put the girls names out in 2003 and was followed up in 2004 by What Will The Neighbours Say?, Chemistry in 2005, Tangled Up in 2007 and the currently last regular studio album was 2008’s Out of Control.

Don’t miss out on your Girls Aloud tickets when they go on pre-sale between 19th to 24th October 2012 and general onsale two days later on 26th October 2012.
