Jake Bugg found himself in the headlines in recent weeks for remarks he made about teen-uber-stars, One Direction. This latest pop feud between Jake Bugg and One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan has amused many and angered legions of One Direction supporters.

The Lightning Bolt star branded One Direction’s music ‘terrible’ and questioned the band’s integrity and success. In an interview with Shortlist, Jake Bugg was quoted:

" People call One Direction the new Beatles because they broke America, but that don’t mean a thing. I mean, One Direction must know that they’re terrible. They must know. Calling them the new rock stars is a ridiculous statement. And people should stop making it."

This received a swift response from One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson, who took to Twitter “Hi @JakeBugg do you think slagging off boy bands makes you more indie?”

The music press has since been asking the question, which side you’re on and with the forthcoming Jake Bugg tour dates in March and later this year in October and November, you can make up your own mind. Get your Jake Bugg tickets and see if Jake Bugg and his music can take on the X Factor boys.
