Andy Murray through to Wimbledon quarterfinals
01 Jul 2014
Andy Murray has advanced to the quarter-finals in Wimbledon 2014 after beating Kevin Anderson in straight sets.
Playing in the fourth round of Wimbledon yesterday (30 June 2014), Andy Murray won the South Africa tennis star 6-4, 6-3, 7-6 (8-6) following a break in play due to the weather.
Sir Alex Ferguson and Greg Dyke were among the celebrities watching Andy Murray play on Wimbledon’s Centre Court. The match was postponed for 27 minutes while the roof was closed because of the rain.
Andy Murray will now play against Grigor Dimitro in the Wimbledon Men’s Singles quarter-finals. So far, Andy Murray has defeated each of his opponents in straight sets in his bid to defend his Wimbledon title. The last British man to defend the Wimbledon title was Fred Perry in 1936.
The Wimbledon Men’s Final takes place on 6 July 2014. Wimbledon tickets for the centre court and No.1 court are available through GET ME IN!.
