BBC Proms 2014
Updated: 24 April 2014
The annual BBC Proms returns to the London Royal Albert Hall this summer between 18 July and 13 September 2014.
Fans of classical music are treated to over 100 performances at the legendary Royal Albert Hall in London. This year marks the 120th season of the BBC Proms.
The first ever Proms were held in 1895 at London’s Queen’s Hall. The idea behind The Proms was to make classical music attractive to the wider public in an informal setting. In fact, early Proms allowed eating, drinking and smoking in the venue.
The BBC took over in 1927, since the Proms have been referred to as the BBC Proms. The most sought-after event of the BBC Proms are BBC Proms tickets for the Last Night Of The Proms. Last Night Of The Proms tickets tend to sell out very quick.
