Azealia Banks
Azealia Banks has been thrust into the limelight with her Missy Elliotesque style rap.
She was born in Harlem, New York in 1991 and has already had record labels clambering over her with the hit "212" (featuring Lazy Jay) which she brought out as a free download in September 2011.
Since then, Azealia Banks has been voted in the music magazine NME Cool List and was mentioned on BBC Radio 1’s Nick Grimshaw ‘Record of The Week’.
A joint venture with Major Lazer and a Nike Sportswear video has bolstered her profile to the max.
Azealia Banks went on the NME Awards Tour in early 2012, with hot property of the moment Irish band Two Door Cinema Club and UK based Metronomy.
The rising star also reached third in the BBC competition Sound of 2012, a competition to find future musical talent.
