Eminem Wembley Stadium tickets
Updated: 7 July 2014

Eminem will play a second Wembley Stadium concert that will take place this summer following high ticket demand.

Eminem, or Marshall Mathers, will now perform at the iconic venue on 11 and 12 July 2014. It will be Eminem’s first performance in London since 2001. The rapper has only played festivals in the last few years in the UK, including headline performances at Reading and Leeds Festival and V Festival.

Eminem has revealed that that Odd Future, the hip hop collective, will support him during his Wembley Stadium shows. Odd Future, whose full name is Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All, is led by Tyler, The Creator, and formed in Los Angeles. They’re known for the track Swag Me Out.

Further support for the Eminem Wembley concert will come from Danny Brown. The American rapper has released three albums Old (2013), XXX (2011), and The Hybrid (2010). Danny Brown announced the news that he would perform with Eminem and Odd Future via Twitter, expressing his excitement at being part of Eminem’s headline show at Wembley Stadium.

About Eminem

The Detroit-born rapper launched his music career with his 1996 debut Infinite, but it was his second album that put Eminem firmly on the scene. Crashing onto the album charts at No.2, The Slim Shady LP features the hip hop classic My Name is and went on to be certified quadruple-platinum.

Still riding high on the phenomenal success that The Slim Shady received, Eminem followed up with what is widely regarded as his masterpiece. The Marshall Mathers album was released in 2000 and scooped pretty much every award it was nominated for. Notably the album was certified nine-times platinum, won the Best Rap Album Grammy Award and Album Of The Year Grammy Award. The Marshall Mathers LP has sold over 21 million copies worldwide.

Eminem went on to release the equally successful The Eminem Show in 2002. He then starred and contributed music to the semi-autobiographical movie 8 Mile before releasing the album Encore in 2004. During the following years, Eminem went into hiatus until the release of 2009’s Relapse.

Eminem stated writer’s block and addiction to sleeping pills as some of the reasons for the four years it took the rap star to return, but when Relapse arrived it was success as usual for Eminem. Back with his Slim Shady alter ego, Eminem took several Grammy’s home for Relapse and accompanying singles and videos.

Expectations for Eminem’s next step were high and resulted in 2010’s Recovery album being his sixth No.1 album. Both singles, Not Afraid and Love The Way You Lie featuring Rihanna, from the album charted and received positive reviews from media and fans.

Eminem released his eighth studio album in November 2013. The album, The Marshall Mathers LP 2, became his seventh consecutive No.1 on the Official UK Albums Chart. In the same year, Eminem was named Global Icon at the 2013 MTV EMA Music Awards.

In support of the album, Eminem embarked on his Rapture Tour in early 2014. The Eminem tour featured dates in New Zealand, Australia and South Africa. It was then announced that the rapper would team up with Rihanna for a mini-tour in the US.

Eminem and Rihanna first worked together in 2010 with Love The Way You Die. An initial three dates were announced for his 2014 American tour with Rihanna. However, due to popular demand to see Eminem on tour with Rihanna, extra dates were soon added. Eminem will tour the US with Rihanna in August 2014.

Throughout the years Eminem has racked up a staggering amount of awards and nominations. The rapper has received 144 nominations and won 70 awards. This includes Academy Awards, American Music Awards, Brit Awards, Juno Awards and Grammy Awards. Eminem’s fourth studio album, The Eminem Show released in 2003, won the rapper four awards.

Along with his work as a recording artist, which has seen him become revered around the world, he founded his own record label in 1999 with his manager Paul Rosenberg. The label, Shady Records, is part of the Universal Music Group. The first act Eminem signed was 50 Cent and is currently home to five.

Eminem announced in May 2014 that he would return to the UK to play one show at London’s Wembley Stadium. The gig, which was initially planned to take place at Hyde Park, was announced with a picture saying ‘Never Mind Hyde Park’. Eminem tickets were in such high demand to see the rapper that an extra date was quickly added to his Wembley Stadium concert.

Eminem UK concerts

Eminem concerts in the UK are a rare occurrence despite his undisputed stage presence and showmanship that has seen Eminem pick up the Grammy Award for Best Rap Solo Performance a whopping three times (2001, 2004 and 2011). Eminem is to return to the UK in 2014 where he will, again, make history by becoming the first rapper to headline the iconic Wembley Stadium.

Eminem’s most notable UK concerts are his festival appearances. He performed at Reading and Leeds Festival in 2013 and 2010, V Festival in 2011 and T in the Park in 2010. His most well-known arena UK performance took place in 2001 at Wembley Arena. Eminem also performed at London’s Brixton Academy along with Dr. Dre in 2000.

A rave review from the press or public is not rare occurrence for this rapper from Detroit who constantly excels when performing in front of a live crowd. Known as the Shakespeare of hip hop, Eminem’s live shows are both explosive and energetic while showcasing his extensive back catalogue of work.
