The multi Grammy Award winning rapper returns with the new album ‘Recovery’ and his number 1 single, Love The Way You Lie featuring Rihanna.
‘Recovery’ is Eminem’s seventh studio album and is the follow-up to last year’s ‘Relapse.’ The Detroit-born rapper launched his music career with his 1996 debut ‘Infinite,’ but it was his second album that put Eminem firmly on the scene. Crashing onto the album charts at #2, ‘The Slim Shady’ features the hip hop classic, ‘My Name is’ and went on to be certified quadruple-platinum and has sold in excess of 4 million copies to date.
Still riding high on the phenomenal success the ‘The Slim Shady’ received, Eminem’s followed up with what is widely regarded as his masterpiece. ‘The Marshall Mathers’ album got released in 2000 and scooped pretty much every award it was nominated for. Notably the album was certified 9x Platinum, Grammys for Best Rap Album and Album Of The Year. By now ‘The Marshall Mathers’ has sold over 19 million copies worldwide.
Riding high on the success, Eminem went on to release the equally successful 2002 released ‘The Eminem Show’ and starred and contributed music to the semi-autobiographical movie 8 Mile before releasing the album ‘Encore’ in 2004 before Eminem went into hiatus until the release of last year’s ‘Relapse’ long player.
Eminem stated writer’s block and addiction to sleeping pills as some of the reasons for the fours years it took the rap star to return, but when ‘Relapse’ arrived it was success as usual for Eminem. Back with his ‘Slim Shady’ alter ego, Eminem took several Grammys home for ‘Replase’ and accompanying singles and videos.
Expectations for Eminem’s next step were high and resulted in 2010’s ‘Recovery’ album being his 6th consecutive Number 1 album. Both singles, ‘Not Afraid’ and ‘Love The Way You Lie featuring Rihanna’ of the album that is thought to feature some of Eminem’s most personal lyrics, both charted and receive positive reviews from media and fans.
