Ne-Yo has announced UK dates in support of his latest studio release, the UK Number 1 album, “Libra Scale.” The American R&B star plays
Ne-Yo launched his career as songwriter for numerous artists, including US artist Mario, who scored a US Billboard Hot 100 hit with the Ne-Yo penned song “Let Me Love You.”
His own recording career started with Ne-Yo’s 2006 debut album, “In My Own Words” on Def Jam Records. With the help of its hit single, “So Sick,” “In My Own Words” shot to Number 1 in the US, putting Ne-Yo’s name out and establishing the musical multi-talent from Las Vegas as a top R&B recording artist.
Ne-Yo released the follow-up albums, “Because of You” (2006) and “Year of the Gentleman” (2007) in quick succession before Ne-Yo took time out to concentrate on his next release, the current album, “Libra Scale.”
“Libra Scale” marks a new chapter for Ne-Yo as songwriter. Aiming to break away from the usual album format, Ne-Yo drew inspiration from Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” and “Moonwalker” albums to create a storyline with characters throughout the songs on “Libra Scale.” In addition Ne-Yo commissioned 6 extended music videos to accompany the album.
