Roots Manuva
Roots Manuva (born Rodney Hylton Smith) is from Stockwell, south west London. Born on 9th September 1972 to Jamaican parents, his music is heavily influenced from his Caribbean roots and he is famous for his rap, dub, and hip-hop productions.
Roots Manuva has appeared on a number of well-known and respected artists across all genres of music which has made him a versatile and successful producer across the electronic scene.
He has appeared alongside long-standing respected artists such as Mr. Scruff, DJ Shadow, electronic, jazz and hip-hop pioneers Coldcut, Nightmares on Wax and Breaks DJ Freq Nasty.
Notable hits include "Witness (1 Hope)" (23 July 2001), "Dreamy Days" (8 October 2001) and “Let the Spirit" (27 October 2008) produced by hot property Metronomy.
