Following a change in sponsorship, RBS Six Nations is now the official name for the Six Nations Championship. Comprising England, France, Ireland, Italy, Scotland and Wales, the RBS Six Nations Championship has been one of the premier tournaments in the rugby calendar since its inception in 1883.

Each team must play eachother once. Two points will be awarded for every win, one for a draw and no point will be given for the losing team.

Previously solid silver, the current RBS Six Nations trophy has been fitted with a 22 carat gold protective plate. This upgrade was necessary to save the trophy from corrosion due to the celebratory champagne toasts.
