Since 2002, Scotland A has participated in the Amateur Four Nations competition and toured Italy, the Netherlands and Serbia. Scotland has participated in the 2000 World Cup and the European Nations Cup (since 2003) competitions.

Scotland kicked off their 2008 Rugby League World Cup qualifying campaign with match against Wales at the Brewery Field in Bridgend on Sunday, 29th October, 2006. Scotland won the match 21 - 14. Scotland will face Wales and Georgia in Europe Pool One, with the winner qualifying for the World Cup and the Runner Up entering the Repecharge round.
