Alanis Morissette shot to global stardom with her third album, 1995’s multi-Platinum certified “Jagged Little Pill.” The album was much rockier, guitar-orientated than her previous efforts and showcased Alanis’ unique vocal talent. Singles such as “You Oughta Know,” “Ironic” and “Hand in my Pocket” all peaked the singles charts and subsequently became radio and TV staples.
She followed up the success of “Jagged Little Pill” with the albums “Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie” in 1998 and 2002’s “Under Rug Swept.” Both albums continued Alanis Morissette’s reign in the charts.
While successive albums, “So Called Chaos” in 2002 and 2004’s “Flavors of Engagement” sold well, they did not sell in the same quantities as her albums during the mid-1990’s.
