Ali Campbell
Ali Campbell is best known as the lead singer in UB40 and can be distinguished for his outstanding contribution to music and had many loved hits ‘One in Ten’ ‘Red Red Wine’, ‘Don’t Break My Heart’ and ‘Can’t Help Falling In Love’.
After nearly three decades of being with UB40 Ali Campbell and keyboardist Mickey Virtue left the band and started a new band. Since then, they have toured the world with trips to Europe, Australia and Africa.
Ali Campbell’s first solo album was called Running Free (#9) and featured many other well known artists such as Simply Red’s Mick Hucknall amongst others.
With his new band, (the Dep band), Ali Campbell released his debut album with the new band released Flying High (#13) which reached the Top 20 in the UK Album Chart.
Now back to touring full-time now, Ali Campbell plays a mixture of his all-time classic tunes as well as songs from his latest solo albums.
In 2010, Ali Campbell released Great British Songs (2010) UK #15 and in the same year Mauritius Government awarded him an award for his contribution to Music and Charity (December 2010).
