Alice in Chains
Alice in Chains have announced a date at The O2 Academy in Glasgow on 2nd August. See the Seattle grunge legends live with Alice in Chains tickets through GET ME IN!
Formed in 1987 by guitarist Jerry Cantrell and the late, original Alice in Chains vocalist Layne Staley, Alice in Chains emerged in the early 90s as part of the burgeoning Grunge scene in Seattle with their debut album, Facelift and the break-through, multi-platinum follow-up, Dirt.
Dirt spawned a string of singles, especially ‘Them Bones’ and ‘Would?’ set the Grunge scene alight and established Alice in Chains as a major force.
The eponymous Alice in Chains album followed in 1995 and marks the last album the band recorded with Layne Staley.
Following the death of Staley in 2002, guitarist Jerry Cantrell put he band on hiatus to work on solo material, before bringing Alice in Chains back with the addition of newly recruited singer William DuVall. The current Alice in Chains line-up also includes long-time Alice in Chains members, bassist Mike Inez and Sean Kinney on drums.
The band released the first new Alice in Chains material in 2009. Black Gives Way To Blue arrived almost 14 years after the self-titled, Alice in Chains album and marks the first Alice in Chains material with William DuVall on vocals.
The critically acclaimed Black Gives Way To Blue put the band back on track and can look forward seeing Alice in Chains live on tour, playing material from their classic releases and new material.
