Anna Calvi was born in 1982 and is from London. As a child, the first three years were spent in hospital and it was here that she fantasised about her future life.
Anna Calvi had a music obsessed dad who helped condition the young star into the singer that she would become today.
In 2006, she joined forces with multi-instrumentalist Mally Harpaz and drummer Daniel Maiden-Wood which would become her future band-mates.
Anna Calvi caught the attention of indie-alternative record label Domino Records and she released her self-titled debut album in January 2011. The album contained the songs “Rider To The Sea”, “No More Words”, “Desire”, “Suzanne & I”, “First We Kiss”, “The Devil”, “Blackout”, “I'll Be Your Man”, “Morning Light” and “Love Won't Be Leaving”.
Her soulful acoustic sound has brought her critical acclaim, with the likes of similar sounding stars such as Lana Del Ray sweeping the charts and singles such as “Suzanne and I”, “Desire”, “Blackout” proving popular with the public.
