Arcade Fire will headline a show at London’s Earl Court in June 2014. They announced the news via a video on YouTube.
Arcade Fire are rumoured to play several festivals next year, along with a US arena tour.
Arcade Fire have returned better than ever with their fourth album Reflektor. The new album is the follow-up to last year’s “The Suburbs,” which spawned the singles “We Used To Wait,” “Ready To Start” and the double a-side, “The Suburbs / Month Of May.”
Arcade Fire are a fantastic multi-instrumental live experience. As well as the standard set-up of guitar, drums, and bass, the band members also play piano, double bass, cello, violin, viola, French horn accordion and other instruments!
Arcade Fire were formed in 2001 but it wasn’t until 2003 that the band managed to bag the lucrative record deal. Hailing from Montreal, Canada and fronted by husband and wife duo Win Butler and Regine Chassangne, Arcade Fire have since scooped multiple awards across three hugely successful albums.
Arcade Fire began playing in their current formation in 2003, their self-penned EP quickly followed. Arcade Fire’s first album ‘Funeral’ was released in 2005 and is a reference to the deaths of several relatives of band members during the making of the album.
The album was received exceptionally well and got them the Grammy for Best Alternative Music Album.
During the same year Arcade Fire opened several shows for U2’s Vertigo Tour, on the third appearance they appeared on stage with the Irish rocker to perform a cover of the Joy Divisions classic ‘Love Will Tear Us Apart,’ winning over new fans to Arcade Fire’s already impressive following.
Although the band’s second album ‘Neon Bible’ leaked before its official release on the Internet, it proved to be an even bigger success than its predecessor. Along with the album’s lead single, ‘Intervention,’ Neon Bible won Arcade Fire another Grammy.
Arcade Fire have grown up, but not to the expense of losing the brilliance and excitement the band showed on previous albums.
