At The Drive-In Announce One-Off London Show
Last updated: 12th July 2012
The reunited At The Drive-In finally make the jump across the pond to play at this year’s Reading and Leeds Festivals and the band has now announced a one-off headline show at London’s Brixton Academy.
August 2012
Reading & Leeds Festivals (22nd - 26th August 2012)
London, O2 Brixton Academy (Tues., 28th August 2012)
At The Drive-In formed in the early 90’s and released three acclaimed albums; the debut ‘Acrobatic Tenement’ ‘In/Casino/Out’ and ‘Relationship of Command.’ Despite positive write-ups and a large dedicated fanbase, it wasn’t until At The Drive In’s final album ‘Relationship of Command’ that the band received success on a global scale.
After the band disbanded, its members went on to form new bands. Jim Ward, Paul Hinojos, and Tony Hajjar formed the band Sparta, while Cedric Bixler-Zavala and Omar Rodríguez-López formed the influential Mars Volta.
Almost a decade after going separate ways, the original members of At The Drive-In got back together earlier this year for their first show since 2002 at the prestigious Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in the US. More US shows followed and finally the band decided to take their reunion tour to Europe.
