Biffy Clyro: Glasgow Summer Sessions
Updated: 24 March 2016

Biffy Clyro will return to their native Scotland for a massive headline concert this summer.

The three-piece will headline the huge Bellahouston Park on Saturday 27 August. The gig is part of the annual Glasgow Summer Sessions, which takes place each year in Scotland.

Joining Biffy Clyro in August are Fall Out Boy and Wolf Alice. They will support the band at Bellahouston Park along with more acts to be announced.

Biff Clyro’s headline Glasgow concert will follow the release of their seventh studio album named Ellipses. It’s their first album since 2013’s chart-topping album, Opposites, and the album includes the lead single Wolves Of Winter.

As well as Biffy Clyro’s concert in Glasgow the band will take part in Belsonic Festival. Biffy Clyro will perform at Belfast’s Titanic Quarter on 25 June as part of the event.

About Biffy Clyro

Biffy Clyro formed in 1995 by the then 15-year-old Simon Neil, who originally named the band Screwfish. James and Ben Johnston joined the line-up, and the trio changed their name to Biffy Clyro.

Their recording debut, Blackened Sky, was followed by The Vertigo Of Bliss and Infinity Land, but it wasn’t until 2007’s Puzzle that Biffy Clyro broke into the wider conscience of music fans and into the chart. Puzzle placed at number 2 in the charts and was awarded gold status.

What followed was 2009's Only Revolutions album. The collection went platinum and spawned the radio-friendly single Mountains and the live favourite Many of Horror. It went on to receive a Mercury Music Prize nomination.

The band returned in 2012 with the single Stingin' Belle and album Opposites, which was released on 28 January 2013. It was the Scottish alt-rockers sixth album to date and charted at No.1 in the UK.

The band has become known for their energetic performances, which saw the group headline Reading and Leeds Festival in 2013. During the same year, the group landed the Best British Band award at the NME Awards.
