The Wild Horses singer has confirmed a nine-date tour of the UK for October 2016 in support of her new album, Beautiful Lies.
The singer-songwriter, who goes by the name of Birdy, will start her tour with a huge concert at London’s Eventim Apollo on 20 October.
Her Beautiful Lies tour will continue to Southampton, Birmingham, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Gateshead, York, Manchester and Bristol throughout October.
Birdy, or Jasmine van den Bogaerde, rose to fame when she sang her version of Bon Iver’s Skinny Love. She went on to earn a massive following on YouTube and soon released her debut self-titled album in November 2011. The collection shot to number 13 in the UK Albums Chart and was certified silver.
It’s no wonder that Birdy has inherited creative genes – her great-uncle was the actor and writer Sir Dirk Bogarde and her mother was also a concert pianist, which Birdy cites as her biggest influence on her music.
Birdy followed her first album with Fire Within in 2013 and Beautiful Lies in 2016. Birdy landed a Brit Awards nomination for Best Female Solo Artist in 2014 and won the Female Solo Artist International award at the Echo Music Prize during the same Year.
