Bowling for Soup
Bowling For Soup (BFS and also spelt ¡Bowling for Soup!) is a punk rock band from Texas. Formed in 1994 of Jaret Reddick (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Chris Burney (lead guitar, backing vocals), Erik Chandler (bass guitar, backing vocals), and Gary Wiseman (drums, percussion, backing vocals post 1998) Lance Morrill (drums, percussion, backing vocals prior to 1998).
Bowling For Soup’s name was based on a Steve Martin comedy act and the band released a few albums in the ‘90s (Bowling For Soup, Cell Mates, Rock on Honorable Ones!!, Tell Me When to Whoa) before being signed to Jive Records in 2002.
In 2004 Bowling For Soup had commercial success for the first time with their studio album A Hangover You Don't Deserve. The song “1985” became the band’s single reaching #23 on the BillBoard Hot 100 Chart.
The band next brought out a compilation of movie soundtrack songs called Bowling for Soup Goes to the Movies and a further album The Great Burrito Extortion Case (2006).
Bowling For Soup embarked on a number of tours including an annual acoustic tour which saw the band tour across the UK and play at The Junction, Cambridge and London Koko amongst others. Following on from her acoustic tour, Bowling For Soup released the Jaret & Erik 2010 UK Acoustic Tour Ltd edition CD.
