Cheryl Cole
Cheryl Cole (full name Cheryl Ann Cole) was born 30th June 1983 and is from Newcastle, England. Previously she was also known as Cheryl Tweedy before she married footballer Ashley Cole.
After finding fame by auditioning talent show Popstars: The Rivals (2002) Cheryl Cole was thrust into the limelight as a member of all girl group Girls Aloud, alongside Nadine Coyle, Sarah Harding, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh.
Since then she has gone on to take over the world with her successful solo career, appearing as a judge on the X Factor as a judge two years in a row (2008-2009).
Cheryl’s first solo single “Fight For This Love” became the fastest selling single of 2009 and her debut album 3 Words certified 3x platinum in the UK. Meeting Black Eyed Peas Will.I.Am, the pair joined up to form a musical match made in heaven. Getting personally hand-picked by X Factor head honcho Simon Cowell to be a judge put the focus firmly on the Geordie.
With all eyes on her, Cheryl Cole proved that she had the winning combination of toughness, experience and sassiness to shake up the original UK X Factor judge line-up, and went on to win the X Factor with Alexandra Burke and Joe McElderry on both occasions.
After splitting up from footballer Ashley Cole, Cheryl Cole went on to appear in the US version of the X Factor which didn’t go quite according to plan, and she was relieved of her duties and went into hiding.
After working on her next album A Million Lights, Cheryl Cole released the single "Call My Name" (May 2012) which was produced by dance supremo Calvin Harris. The album reached #2 in the UK Albums Chart and also features Wretch 32 on Vocals and Lana Del Rey as a writer, composer and vocalist.
