Coldplay
Coldplay rose to the dizzy heights of fame through their 2000 hit “Yellow” and went on to have further success with the multi-platinum, Grammy winning album, Parachutes. The band was formed in 1996 and consists of Chris Martin (vocalist/pianist), Jon Buckland (guitar), Will Champion (drums) and Guy Berryman (bass).
The band’s second album “A Rush of Blood to the Head” was received well and had hit singles “In My Place”, “Clocks” and “The Scientist”. They went on tour soon after and co-headlined Glastonbury and won the Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album at the 2003 Grammy Awards.
The third album “X & Y” was number one in 20 countries and sold more than eight million copies worldwide. This led onto the fourth album “Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends” which catapulted the group into world-wide stardom. The band was nominated for four BRIT Awards in 2009 and won three Grammy awards.
Coldplay released their fourth album “Mylo Xyloto” in October 2011.
