Darren Hayes
Darren Stanley Hayes was born 8th May 1972 and is best known for being one half the massive ‘90s pop group Savage Garden with their massive hits “Truly Madly Deeply” and "To the Moon and Back". Post Savage, Garden Darren Hayes has gone on to have solo success.
Darren Hayes is one of Australia’s biggest exports and has been producing music for over 20 years and sold over 27 million albums globally since he worked with music partner Daniel Jones (keyboards, sequencing, guitar) with Savage Garden.
As part of Savage Garden, Darren Hayes released two albums and four solo studio albums. The pair performed at the world’s most prestigious venues including London’s Royal Albert Hall, The Sydney Opera House, Radio City hall in New York and even at the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games.
Darren Hayes first solo adventure Spin was highly successful and reached #2 in the UK and #3 in the Australian Chart. The album spawned the singles "Strange Relationship", "Crush (1980 Me)" and "I Miss You”.
In 2006, Darren Hayes left Columbia Records after 10 years with being with the label and a year later embarked on his Time Machine Tour and visited the UK and Australia, releasing a special commemorative DVD.
During the late 2000s Darren Hayes continued to have success with the album Secret Codes and Battleship which was reminiscent of his earlier work in Savage Garden.
