Deftones UK Tour 2013 Announced
Last updated: 25th October 2012
The Deftones formed in 1988 and began making their name on the club circuit after snapping up their record deal with Madonna’s Maverick record label.
The name ‘Deftones’ was chosen to reflect their tendency not to stick to just one style of music. ‘Def’ being a hip-hop slang term and ‘tones’ which was a popular suffix with bands in the 1950’s
While working on their ‘Eros’ album, Deftones bassist Chi Cheung sustained serious injuries in a car accident that he is slowly recovering from. As a consequence the band pushed back the release of ‘Eros’ indefinitely and former Quicksand bass player, Sergio Vega stepped in Chi’s position for the time being.
The Deftones new album Koi No Yokan is due for release 12th November 2012 and the band will be touring in February 2013.
