Dolly Parton started her musical career in 1967 with the release of her debut album, “Hello I’m Dolly,” which included the chart hits “Dumb Blonde” and “Something Fishy.” Her biggest hit “Jolene” arrived in 1973 as single and was also included on the album of the same name the following year. “Jolene” has become a global hit and Dolly’s trademark tune to this day. Other Dolly Parton hits include “9 to 5,” “Two Doors Down” and her cover of The Animals’ classic “House of the Rising Sun.”
Asked about criticism of Miley Cyrus's recent raunchy behavior, Dolly Parton has defended her saying that she is simply trying to reinvent herself and get over the "little girl Hannah Montana" image". Dolly also backed Taylor Swift to go onto great things saying "Her songs are great, she keeps herself anchored and knows who she is. I just admire her and I think she's incredible and a great role model for young people right now."
