DragonForce is a London power metal band. Formed in 1999, the band consists of Marc Hudson (lead vocals), Herman Li (guitars, backing vocals, production), Sam Totman (guitars, backing vocals, production), Frédéric Leclercq (bass, backing vocals, extreme brutal vocals), Vadim Pruzhanov (keyboards, piano, theremin, kaos pad, backing vocals) and Dave Mackintosh (drums, backing vocals).
The band started out with their first album Valley of the Damned and subsequently went on to release Sonic Firestorm (2004), Inhuman Rampage (2006), Ultra Beatdown (2008) and The Power Within (2012).
Since 1999, DragonForce has had a number of different members and became well-known for fast-paced and electronic sounds used in their sets. After their first album, DragonForce coined the nick-names "Bon Jovi on speed" and "Journey meets Slayer.
They built up their fan-base by touring with W.A.S.P. and Iron Maiden and by 2006, the band line-up had changed again.
Their album Inhuman Rampage (2006), went on to be used in a number of video games: Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, Guitar Hero: Smash Hits.
In 2008, DragonForce toured with well-renowned metal bands Disturbed and Slipknot at the Rockstar Energy Metal Mayhem Festival and their single "Heroes of Our Time" was Grammy nominated (they lost against Metallica in the end).
By 2010, DragonForce went on a temporary hiatus while the original singer ZP Theart left the band and pursued other ambitions.
In 2011 Marc Hudson joined DragonForce and a new era began. In 2012, DragonForce released The Power Within on their new record label Electric Generation Recordings.
