Eagles of Death Metal
Eagles of Death Metal are an American band from Las Vegas and consist of duo Jesse "Boots Electric" Hughes and Josh "Babyduck" Homme (Queens of The Stone Age).
In the early days of formation (1998) Josh Homme was flitting between Queens of The Stone Age and Eagles of Death Metal before their debut album in 2004 Peace, Love, Death Metal. It was commercially highly successful and picked up by a number of video games and companies and put the band into the spotlight.
Eagles of Death Metal second album Death by Sexy (2006) was followed with a tour with none other than The Strokes and supported heavy metal giants Guns N’Roses. Their songs were once again picked up by high profile brands Microsoft and Nike.
In 2008, Eagles of Death Metal released Heart On, their third effort which reached #3 in the US Indie charts and in the top 100 on the UK Album Chart. They later went on tour in North America and in 2009 they warmed up for indie giants the Arctic Monkeys.
In 2010 touring bass player Brian O'Connor underwent chemotherapy for cancer and the band performed a concert at the O2 Academy Brixton to raise money for him.
Jesse Hughes went on to release solo material Honkey Kong (September 2011).
