Eric Clapton extends Royal Albert Hall residency

The legendary guitarist is to play a further three shows at London’s Royal Albert Hall as part of his 70th birthday celebrations.
The star will now perform on 20, 21 and 23 May. The shows at Clapton’s home-away-from-home are to mark his 70th birthday.

Eric Clapton is celebrating his 70th birthday with a series of shows at London’s Royal Albert Hall.
The singer, songwriter and guitarist is to perform four concerts at the Royal Albert on 14, 15, 17 and 18 May 2015. The gigs mark Clapton’s 70th birthday on 30 March.
His band Paul Carrack, Michelle John, Chris Stainton, Sharon White, Nathan East and Steve Gadd will join him during the shows.
The poignant performances will also mark 50 years since Clapton’s very first show at the iconic venue when he performed with his first band the Yardbirds. Throughout the years he has headlined the Royal Albert Hall an astounding 171 times.

Eric Clapton will perform two shows in June 2014. The incredible guitar player will first perform at Glasgow’s The Hydro on 21 June 2014. He will then go on to perform at the First Direct Arena in Leeds on 22 June.

The rock and blues legend joined The Yardbirds back in 1963 and later enjoyed a hugely successful solo career along with playing in several other hit-making bands from Cream to Derek and The Dominos. He has wowed audiences all over the world with his outstanding guitar skills.
Famed for his classic tunes Layla and Wonderful Tonight, Eric Clapton has been voted one of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time and voted one of the Top 50 Guitarists of All Time by Gibson.
He is also the only person to receive to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame three times. He has received the honour as a solo star, with the Yardbirds and with Cream.
In 2013, the legendary guitar player celebrated his 50th year in music with outstanding performances in Belfast, Birmingham, Manchester and a residency in London.
